This coming Monday will be Memorial Day. Our help desk will be closed on Monday, May  27th. Normal business hours will resume the following day on Tuesday, May 28th.

Help Desk Schedule During Winter Break

During the winter break, the Help Desk will still be open, but with reduced hours. We will be open on:

  • Saturday, December 15th from 4pm to 7pm (phones only)
  • Monday, December 17th to Friday the 21st from 8am to 4:30pm

You may drop by our Help Desk during the weekday, or you may call or email us.

The Help Desk will be closed after Friday, December 21st, and will be open on January 2nd at 8am. During the campus closure, urgent issues (i.e., network/server outage) reported by email or voicemail will be responded to.

[Resolved]Muir Tioga Cable Modems Down

Updated Thursday, September 22, 7:47am:
The network issues affecting Tioga have now been resolved. If you are still experiencing issues with your network connection, try powercycling your cable modem by unplugging the power and then plugging it back in. After 20-30 minutes, see if your network connection is restored. If you are still having problems, please call us at 858-534-2267.

We are aware of the network issue currently affecting Tioga in Muir and are working to get it resolved as soon as possible.

Re-register for Winter Quarter!

To maintain your ResNet connections, please register your computer(s) by clicking on the Register Connection link on the main ResNet page (resnet.ucsd.edu) to the right.

Those who have registered between Sunday, December 12, 2010 and Tuesday, January 11, 2011, will experience no loss of connection to the Internet. We will be clearing out the old registration logs on Wednesday, January 12th, 2011, at noon.

If you have not registered since December 12, 2010, please re-register before noon, Wednesday, January 12th, 2011 to avoid an interruption to your connection to the Internet.

If you forget to register by noon on Wednesday, January 12th, 2011, please just re-register your connection to get your connection back.

You need to register from your on-campus residence. You will need to register both your wired AND wireless connections separately. Make sure you are connected to a ResNet access point, and not a “UCSD” access point when you are registering your wireless connection. The registration process will include a security scan of your computer to verify that it is protected from the most common Internet viruses.

** Any devices that we helped you register (game systems, routers, et) after July 1st of 2010, or that have been active in the last 60 days do NOT need to be re-registered. **

Thanksgiving Holiday Support Hours

In observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday, phone support hours for the ACMS Help Desk will be closing early at 4:30pm on Wednesday, November 25th. The ACMS Help Desk will be closed on Thursday, November 26th through Saturday, November 28th. Regular phone support hours will resume on Sunday, November 29th from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Regular help desk support hours will resume on Monday, November 30th at 8:00am. If you live on campus and would like to report any network outages, please call 858-534-2267 and leave a message.
