Upcoming Network Maintenance

There will be expected intermittent downtime for the ResNet and campus wireless networks for scheduled maintenance and upgrades next week. 

The ResNet upgrade will affect only the wireless network in on-campus residencies, and will take place during the following times:

4:30AM Monday, August 19
6:30AM Monday, August 19

The campus-wide network upgrade will affect UCSD-PROTECTED, UCSD-GUEST, and VPN service, and will take place during the following times:

9:00PM Thursday, August 22
3:00AM Friday, August 23

During this window, wireless networks may be unusable in various on-campus locations. These upgrades should not affect wired (Ethernet) Internet use.

Recent Phishing Attempts for UCSD Credentials

Please be aware of the recent phishing attempts being sent out to UCSD email addresses. These emails are attempting to deceive account holders to supply their login credentials by claiming that UCSD will be conducting email account maintenance. UCSD will never ask you for your password directly via email, and in general, you should never send sensitive information in an email.

 Do NOT, under any circumstances, click on the link provided and share your personal information.

[Updated] Planned ResNet Upgrades 8/8 and 8/10

  • [Completed] On 8/8/2013 there will be a planned network outage for the ResNet network from 5:30am to 6:30am in order to complete some necessary upgrades.
  • [Completed] On 8/10/2013 there will be planned maintenance being performed on all campus wireless networks including: UCSD-PROTECTED, UCSD-GUEST, eduroam, SDSC and RESNET-WLANs, that will result in intermittent wireless outages. The maintenance is planned to start at 8:00am and finish at 4:00pm.
