Wired and wireless connection should now be restored.
There seems to be issues affecting wired and wireless network connections on campus, which may include ResNet. We will keep you updated on any changes.
Wireless for the UCSD campus (UCSD-PROTECTED, UCSD-GUEST) and VPN services should now be working. If it’s not, give us a call at 858-534-2267. Our phones are open until 5:30pm today, but if it’s an outage affecting multiple students being reported after hours, one of our dedicated technicians will respond as soon as possible.
UCSD wireless (UCSD-PROTECTED, Guest) and VPN is currently down throughout campus. It is also affecting the wired connection in non-residential buildings. This is not related to the previous message about wireless maintenance — it is just really bad timing.
Just a reminder about a notice we sent out on October 31st. “On Saturday, November 10th between 5-9pm, there may be some network connectivity interruption in some non-residential areas on campus. During this time, network hardware will be upgraded. You may not be able to connect to UCSD-PROTECTED or GUEST in ERC (vicinity of reslife offices, Ventanas, Great Hall), Muir (vicinity of court yard, annex, laundry room), Marshall (vicinity of Oceanview Terrace, Fireside Lounge, administrative buildings), or Village East/West (vicinity of administrative buildings). This should not affect wireless access available in your common room area.”
We have received reports that the downtime experienced by webmail.ucsd.edu has been resolved. Full email functionality has been resolved at this time.
We will be monitoring the situation to ensure that webmail functionality stays up. In the case that webmail services go down again, please be advised that our crews will receive notifications and begin work on the problems as soon as possible.
