Every year, the ACMS Help Desk receives reports of phishing and spam attempts asking for personal information, including but not limited to:
Any UCSD username
Any UCSD password
Your Social Security Number
Your bank account or credit card number
Your date of birth
Do NOT, under any circumstances, share your personal information. UCSD will never ask you for your password directly via email, and in general, you should never send sensitive information in an email.
If you have mistakenly responded to the email, please change your password immediately using the global password change tool: http://acs.ucsd.edu/account-tools/gpasswd.shtml
If you have been experiencing intermittent wireless connectivity problems in the common room area of your college, please make sure to update the wireless drivers for your computer.
Please visit the support page of your computer model (HP, Sony, Dell, etc.) and download the latest wireless driver software. If you are using an Apple computer, use Software Update found under System Preferences.
Also, keep in mind that wireless is for the common room area, and not designed to be functional in individual rooms. Your primary connection to the network is the Ethernet connection in your room. Ethernet cords can be purchased at the UCSD Bookstore.

As of September 9, 2010, we are aware of the printing problem from the PC lab computers to lab printers. We have notified the appropriate department and they are currently working to resolve the issue in an efficient manner. As an alternative, please print from a Mac computer.
