[Resolved] Problems with The Village Building 3 and Argo/Blake Connectivity

Issues affecting Village Building 3 and Argo/Blake should be resolved. Please contact us if you have problems connecting to the network.


The Village Building 3 and some rooms on the third floor of Building 2 are currently having problems with the ethernet connection.

In addition,there are some problems affecting the quality of Argo/Blake wireless.

We hope to have these resolved shortly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

[Resolved] Internet Connectivity and Warren Brennan and Black Apartments

The wireless should also be active as well. Please keep in mind that your wired connection should be your primary connection as not all areas will have wireless available.

There are issues with the Ethernet connection in some areas of Warren Brennan and Black Apartments as well as The Village. We are working to resolve this as soon as possible.


Apartments in Warren Brennen and Black Halls are currently undergoing network upgrades for both the wired and wireless connections. Network connectivity will be limited and in most cases unavailable until upgrades are finished on Wednesday, September 16th, tentatively.

[Resolved] Problems with ResNet Wireless

The problems affecting ResNet wireless should be resolved. Please contact us if you continue having problems


The following areas are currently having problems with the ResNet wireless connection, and you may not be able to connect to the internet:

  • ERC
  • Warren Stewart, Frankfurter, Harlan, Bates, Brown
  • Revelle Fleets and Matthews apts
  • Marshall Uppers
  • Sixth Apartments
  • While we work on correcting the problem, please keep in mind that your primary connection should be your wired Ethernet connection. To use your wired Ethernet connection, you will have to use an Ethernet cord, available at the UCSD Bookstore.

    Encrypted Wireless Now Available in Some ResNet Areas

    ResNet wireless is currently available in the following locations:

    • Revelle College
    • Muir Tenaya and Apartments
    • Marshall uppers (G-M)
    • Warren residence halls (Stewart, Frankfurter, Harlan)
    • Warren Black and Brennan Apartments
    • ERC College
    • Sixth College
    • The Village

    New this year is encrypted wireless in The Village West, Revelle Argo and Blake, Warren Black and Brennan, Muir, and 6th ResHalls. The name of the access point will have an “-E” at the end of the name (i.e., RESNET-MUIR-E). Encrypted wireless connections make it more difficult for others to “listen in” on your wireless conversation. The service cannot encrypt your data through all the paths it travels, but it does offer a more secure connection.

    ACMS Help Desk Special Support Hours in September

    The ACMS Help Desk will have modified hours between Monday, September 7th through Wednesday, September 22nd.

    ACMS Help Desk walk in support hours are as follows:

    • Monday, September 7th – Friday, September 11th: 9:00am – 4:30pm
    • Monday, September 14th – Friday, September 18th: 9:00am – 4:30pm
    • Monday, September 20th – Tuesday, Septebmer 21st: 8:30am – 4:30pm

    ACMS phone support hours are as follows:

    • Saturday, September 12: 3:00pm – 7:00pm

    [Updated] ResNet Network Outages in September

    There are going to be some significant upgrades and changes to the ResNet network over the next two weeks, finishing up some work that has been going on all summer that should provide the framework for continued improvements to the Residential Area Network. We will be updating this site with any updates. Following is a list of dates and estimations of when the network will be down.

    Sept. 6 : Possible rolling outages of 5-10 minutes
    Sept. 8 : Approximately 1 hour outage per college area
    Sept. 12 : All day outage
